The ring main unit is a high voltage switchgear, which can be installed in the switchgear or outdoor switch box.
The ring main unit is a switchgear (outgoing ring main unit) for each distribution branch. The bus of this switchgear is also a part of the ring trunk. In other words, the ring trunk line is composed of the bus bars of each outlet cabinet. Each outlet cabinet is called "ring main unit".
