What is low voltage switchgear?

Low-voltage switchgear is a kind of electrical equipment. The outer line of the switchgear enters the main control switch in the cabinet first, and then enters the sub-control switch, and each branch is set according to its needs. Such as instrumentation, automatic control, motor magnetic switch, various AC contactors, etc., and some also have high-voltage room and low-voltage room switch cabinets, and high-voltage bus bars, such as power plants.

The low-voltage switchgear itself is metal and grounded, so you can put switches and other things in it for wiring. It protects people who pass by nearby, and avoid anyone who unknowingly or carelessly comes into contact with the charged parts inside. Because the shell is metal and grounded, it is safe for the shell to have zero voltage, even if someone touches it.

The main function of the low-voltage switchgear is to open and close, control and protect electrical equipment during the process of power generation, transmission, distribution and electrical energy conversion in the power system. The components in the switch cabinet are mainly composed of circuit breakers, load switches, isolating switch operating mechanisms, mutual inductors and various protection devices. It is mainly suitable for various occasions such as power plants, substations, petrochemicals, metallurgical steel rolling, light industry and textiles, factories and mining enterprises, residential quarters, and high-rise buildings.
