What are the classifications of ring main units?
Apr 18, 2022
Ring main units are a group of high-voltage switchgear installed in steel plate metal cabinets or electrical equipment made into assembled spaced ring network power supply units. Its core part adopts load switch and fuse. It has the advantages of simple structure, small size, low price, can improve power supply parameters and performance, and power supply security. It is widely used in distribution stations and box-type substations in load centers such as urban residential quarters, high-rise buildings, large public buildings, factories and enterprises.
Ring main units are generally divided into three types: air insulation, solid insulation and SF6 insulation. It is used for splitting and closing load current, breaking short-circuit current and transformer no-load current, charging current of overhead lines and cable lines at a certain distance, and plays the role of control and protection. It is an important switchgear for ring network power supply and terminal power supply.
