1、 Ventilation treatment
The operation of the equipment inside the casing of the box transformer will inevitably generate heat, but the heat generated will also vary depending on the no-load and load losses of the transformer. In order to avoid excessive temperature caused by heat accumulation inside the shell, heat dissipation treatment is required. In situations where there is not much heat, natural ventilation is usually used and ventilation openings are set up to remove the heat. In situations where there is a significant amount of heat generated and natural ventilation cannot meet the requirements, it is necessary to adopt forced ventilation by installing fans at the ventilation openings to assist in the air circulation inside and outside the box.
However, ventilation can bring dust, salt mist, mold, etc. from the external environment into the interior of the box transformer housing, causing condensation and corrosion of the distribution cabinet. In severe cases, it can cause short circuits and dangerous situations. To solve this problem, a special heat dissipation method - gravity heat pipe - can be used for heat dissipation, which has strong thermal conductivity and can transfer the heat of the heating object to the outside of the heat source. This advantage can be used to complete the heat dissipation inside the box.
2、 Sealing treatment
The sealing of the casing of the box transformer needs to consider the filtration of the ventilation port to prevent wind and sand from entering the casing through the ventilation port. The commonly used method is to set up a filter screen at the ventilation port to block the entry of external sand and dust, while also not affecting the air circulation. In addition, sealing rubber rings can also be used to seal the gaps in the casing of the box transformer, which can effectively block sand and dust as well as small animals from entering the box through the gaps.
In addition, in order to avoid the invasion of wind and sand, the surface of the box transformer casing is severely aged, requiring the coating to have good rust resistance, and the casing should have a certain strength and thickness. For this reason, a layer of epoxy resin paint is usually sprayed first when making the casing of the box transformer, and then a layer of polyurethane topcoat is sprayed after drying, which can resist severe cold and will not cause brittle fracture under low temperature conditions.
