1、 What are the components of high-voltage switchgear

High voltage switchgear refers to electrical equipment used for power generation, transmission, distribution, energy conversion, and consumption in the power system. It is mainly used for 3.6kV~550kV electrical products and consists of a cabinet body, main busbar room, circuit breaker room, cable room, and relay instrument room

1. Cabinet material

There are many materials for the cabinet body. The welded cabinet is made of cold-rolled steel plate or angle steel, the assembled cabinet is made of aluminum zinc coated steel plate or galvanized steel plate, and stainless steel or aluminum plate is also used. The cabinet body is composed of a shell, electrical components (including insulation parts), various mechanisms, secondary terminals, and wiring.

2. Main busbar room

The busbar room is arranged on the upper back of the switchgear for installation and arrangement of three-phase high-voltage AC busbar, and for connection with static contacts through branch busbar. All busbars are plastic sealed with insulating sleeves. When the busbar passes through the partition of the switchgear, it is fixed with busbar sleeves. If an internal fault arc occurs, it can limit the spread of the accident to adjacent cabinets and ensure the mechanical strength of the busbar.

3. Circuit breaker room

Also known as the handcart room, a specific guide rail is installed in the circuit breaker room for the circuit breaker handcart to slide and work inside. The handcart can move between the working position and the test position. The partition (valve) of the static contact is installed on the rear wall of the handcart compartment. During the process of moving the handcart from the test position to the working position, the partition automatically opens, and when moving the handcart in the opposite direction, it is completely composite, ensuring that the operator does not touch the charged body.

4. Cable room

The cable room is equipped with auxiliary equipment such as current transformers, grounding switches, lightning arresters (overvoltage protectors), and cables, and detachable aluminum plates with slits are prepared at the bottom to ensure convenient on-site construction.

5. Relay instrument room

On the panel of the relay room, there are installed microcomputer protection devices, operation handles, protection outlet pressure plates, instruments, status indicator lights (or status displays), etc; In the relay room, there are terminal blocks, microcomputer protection control circuit DC power switches, microcomputer protection working DC power supplies, energy storage motor working power switches (DC or AC), and special secondary equipment installed.
 

2、 What are the electrical components inside the high-voltage switchgear

There are many electrical components inside the high-voltage switchgear, which can generally be divided into two categories: primary electrical components and secondary electrical components:

1. Common primary electrical components inside the switchgear (main circuit equipment)

It mainly includes current transformer, Voltage transformer, grounding switch, lightning arrester (resistance capacitance absorber), disconnector, high-voltage circuit breaker, high-voltage contactor, high-voltage fuse, transformer, high-voltage live display, insulation parts (wall bushing, contact box, insulator, insulation heat shrinkable sheath), high-voltage reactor, load switch, high-voltage single-phase parallel capacitor, etc.

2. Main secondary electrical components commonly used in switchgear

Secondary electrical components refer to the equipment for monitoring, controlling, measuring, adjusting and protecting the primary equipment, mainly including relays, Electricity meter, Ammeter, Voltmeter, power meters, power factor meters, frequency meters, fuses, air switches, change-over switches, signal lights, resistors, buttons, microcomputer integrated protection devices, etc
