Safety measures for high and low voltage switchgear

The secondary windings of current transformers and voltage transformers should have a sexual and reliable grounding protection.


When the high and low voltage switchgear is working on the secondary circuit of the current transformer in operation, the following safety measures should be adopted:

1. Prevent disconnecting the current loop.

2. In order to reliably short-circuit the secondary coil of the current transformer, it is necessary to use short-circuit strips and short-circuit wires to prevent the use of wires to surround.

3. Prevent any operation on the loop and wire between the current transformer and the short-circuit terminal.

4. When working on the secondary circuit of a voltage transformer in operation.


The high and low voltage switchgear adopts the following safety measures:

1. Strictly avoid short circuit or grounding.

2. Use insulating materials, wear insulating gloves, and stop the relevant relay protection equipment before operation if necessary.

3. When connecting a temporary load, it is necessary to install a special switch and fuse.

4. When the secondary circuit is energized, in order to avoid reverse voltage transformation from the secondary side to the primary, in addition to disconnecting the secondary circuit, the primary fuse should also be removed.

5. Before the secondary circuit is energized or the withstand voltage test, the attendant and related personnel should be informed, and someone should be sent to guard the scene, check the circuit, and only after it is admitted that no one is working.

6. The operators who check the power failure protection and the secondary circuit are prohibited from performing any switching operations without the permission of the personnel on duty.


The high and low voltage switch cabinet is a kind of electrical equipment.
