Regulations on overload operation of oil-immersed transformers

Jun 09, 2022

Oil-immersed transformers have a certain load. The load of the oil-immersed transformer is the specific capacity that the oil-immersed transformer bears. Oil-immersed transformer overload has certain regulations for transformer operation and oil-immersed transformer overload. What are the specific regulations?

The normal overload operation of the transformer is specified as follows.

1. Transformers operating at full load throughout the day should not be overloaded.

2. When the load rate of the transformer is less than 1 during low-load operation, the overload multiple and continuous learning time allowed by the transformer during the peak load development period. It is specified according to the different temperature of the annual equivalent network environment, the load demand curve and the load carried by the transformer before overloading.

3. In summer, when the temperature is lower than the basic rated environmental capacity for load system operation, for every 1% lower, 1% overload is allowed in winter, but the overload is still limited to 15%. According to the design structure of the transformer in our country, it is recommended to use the large normal overload value. The natural circulation oil-cooled air-cooled transformer is 30% of the rated load. For ease of application, the transformer has normal overload capacity.
