The proximity switch of the PLC control cabinet (low-voltage distribution cabinet) is composed of an induction head, oscillator, amplifier, and casing. When the moving component approaches the sensing head of the proximity switch, an electrical signal will be output. According to their working principles, there are inductive, capacitive, Hall type, ultrasonic type, infrared photoelectric type, non magnetic metal induction intelligent type, etc.
1. Inductive proximity switch
Inductive proximity switches include high-frequency oscillation type, linear displacement type, inductive analog output type, intrinsic safety type, magnetic induction type, and other types.
PLC control cabinet (low-voltage distribution cabinet) analog output inductive proximity switch, also known as linear displacement sensor, operates on the same principle as ordinary inductive proximity switches, but does not have a fixed switching point. Instead, when the metal detection object approaches the detection surface, it outputs a linear output signal of current or voltage proportional to the distance of the target object (related to the material of the target object). After linear processing, it is amplified by an internal signal amplifier and output. The output signal is 4-20mA/0-10mA or 0-10V/2-10V, and it also has short-circuit, overload reverse protection, etc., suitable for simple measurement and control tasks. Typical applications include thickness measurement, gap or distance measurement, wheel eccentricity and width measurement, positioning control, absolute position or angular deviation control, etc. During the winding or laying out process, the thickness of the roller can be measured and converted into a corresponding current or voltage signal.
Intrinsically safe proximity switches, also known as NAMUR switches or safety switches, are composed of an electric oscillator and demodulator. They can convert the displacement of metal detection objects and sensors into changes in current signals, and are installed in explosive environments. They are usually used in conjunction with corresponding switch amplifiers.
PLC control cabinet (low-voltage distribution cabinet) permanent magnet proximity switch, also known as tongue spring sensor or magnetic switch, uses the suction of a permanent magnet to drive the tongue spring switch and output signals. Suitable for position measurement and limit switches of pneumatic, hydraulic, cylinder, and piston pumps. When the magnetic target approaches, the tongue spring closes and amplifies the output switch signal, which can be installed in metal, tightly installed, and can be detected through the metal. The detection distance varies with the strength of the magnetic field of the detection body.
The inductive proximity switch of PLC control cabinet (low-voltage distribution cabinet) mainly consists of three parts: high-frequency oscillator, integrated circuit or transistor amplifier, and output device. The induction head of traditional inductive proximity switch is generally an inductive coil with a ferrite magnetic core, which can only be used to detect metal objects. The basic working principle is that the coil of the oscillator generates an alternating magnetic field on the surface of the sensing head. When the metal detection body approaches the sensing head, the eddy currents generated inside the metal object will absorb the energy of the oscillator, causing it to stop vibrating. Therefore, two types of signals, oscillation and stop, are generated, which are converted into binary switch signals by the shaping amplifier, thus playing a "on" and "off" control role.
