Notes for outdoor installation of box-type substations
Sep 23, 2020
1. The grounding conductor of the box-type substation must be a copper conductor, and the cross-section must not be less than 30mm2. For some equipment that deliberately reduces the specifications of the grounding conductor, it is easy to be damaged by lightning.
2. The grounding network of the box-type substation also needs to ensure sufficient coverage area and depth. The grounding network of the box-type substation is buried below 1 meter underground. In order to reduce the resistance, some vertical grounding electrodes should be added.
3. Box-type substations should be installed in areas where there is no strong vibration or impact. Large electromagnetic induction cannot occur nearby, and the cable entry and exit lines should meet the construction safety distance.
4. The box-type substation should be installed in a dry and ventilated area, installed horizontally, and the inclination should not exceed 5 degrees.
5. The installation area of the box-type substation shall not contain dangerous substances such as explosions, and corrosive gases or liquids.
6. There is no need to be on duty during the outdoor use of the box-type substation, so the floor space is small and the operating cost is low.
