Daily inspection and maintenance of high voltage switchgear

Jul 23, 2020

The high-voltage switchgear should be inspected regularly by professionals during operation to ensure the safe operation of the high-voltage switchgear. So, what aspects should be checked during regular inspections?

1. Operation inspection and inspection

1) Check the switchgear regularly every day; in case of inclement weather or abnormal power distribution operation, additional special inspections are required. There is no abnormal noise, and the indoor temperature and humidity are normal. Observe the switch in rainy weather to remove the water accumulated in the cable trench.

2) After the circuit breaker trips, you must immediately check whether the equipment in the cabinet is abnormal, and check whether the color of the bus bar and fittings are normal, and it is necessary to accurately judge that there should be no overheating.

3) The grounding device connection line is firm and has no disconnection, and the control device equipment is operating normally; the meters, signals, and instructions are correct.

4) The ventilation, lighting, and fire protection devices in the switch cabinet are normal; no abnormal smells appear in the switch room; the number of operations or trips of the circuit breaker is within the maintenance regulations; the anti-misoperation device and mechanical locking device must not be abnormal.

5) Clean the insulation boards, valves, handcart insulation parts, and busbars in the switchgear cabinet every other year. The insulation parts should not be damp and can be dried.

2. Overhaul and maintenance

1) The main busbar and the cable connection have overheating and discoloration, and they should be repaired immediately; the control, signal, and lighting power supplies are normal; the number of operations or trips of the circuit breaker exceeds the specified number, and preventive testing or maintenance must be carried out.

2) Maintenance program locks and mechanical locks should operate reliably and have correct procedures; circuit breakers, isolation switches, and operating mechanisms must be inspected and debugged in accordance with regulations.

3) The electrical contact parts of the sill car are in good contact, and the ground loop and fastening screws are tested.
