Capacity of dry-type transformers

The capacity of dry-type transformers varies with different models and types. The appropriate dry-type transformer capacity is one of the important basis for us to choose dry-type transformers.

Regarding the selection of dry-type transformer capacity, let's take a closer look: the capacity levels of dry-type transformers are 30, 50, 63, 80, 100, 125, 160, 200, 250, 315, 400, 500, 630, 800, 1000 , 1250, 1600 and 2000 16000, 20000, 25000, 31500, 40000, 40000.

Generally, dry-type transformers with a capacity of 630KVA and below are collectively referred to as small dry-type transformers. 800~6300KVA dry-type transformers are called medium-sized dry-type transformers.

8000~63000KVA dry-type transformers are called large dry-type transformers.

Dry-type transformers above 90000KVA are called extra-large transformers.

The choice of dry-type transformer capacity has a great influence on the comprehensive investment benefit. Dry-type transformer capacity is too large, not only large one-time investment, but also large no-load loss. If the capacity of the dry-type transformer is too small, the load loss of the dry-type transformer will increase, which is economically unreasonable and technically infeasible.

The good load factor (that is, the load factor with high efficiency) of the dry-type transformer is between 40%-70%, not the rated state. If the load rate is too high, the loss will increase. On the other hand, due to the small capacity and margin of dry-type transformers, the load increases slightly, and large-capacity box-type transformers need to be replaced. Frequent expansion will inevitably increase investment and affect power supply.
