Application of box-type substation

Jun 16, 2021

1. Mainly used in urban residential districts and streets, when electricity is used at peak periods. When the voltage needs to be increased, we need to use our equipment-box-type substation.

2. Mainly used for temporary supply of electricity, such as in construction sites, in the case of existing buildings, we need to transform electrical equipment. Box-type substations are often used in field operations, such as construction sites, docks, airports, and so on.

General requirements

⑴In the case of simple lighting and public power distribution, high-voltage metering is not necessary in the high-voltage wiring scheme of box-type transformers, only low-voltage metering or no metering, without compensation. 4~6 feedback loops are controlled and protected by plastic circuit breakers;

⑵In the case of public power distribution for power lighting, the distribution circuit of the box substation has increased, reaching 8-12 times. In addition, it should have a reactive power compensation function;

⑶ Self-maintaining electricity and special circumstances.

The box-type substation occupies a small area. The general box-type substation covers an area of only 5~6㎡, and it can even be reduced by 3~3.5㎡. It is suitable for places such as general load-intensive industrial and mining enterprises, ports and residential quarters, which can extend high-voltage power supply to the load center, reduce the radius of low-voltage power supply, and reduce losses. There are few low-voltage power supply lines, generally 4~6 lines. Shorten the on-site construction cycle and reduce investment.

When new equipment such as fully sealed transformers and SF6 switch cabinets are used, the maintenance period of the equipment can be extended, and the maintenance-free requirements can even be achieved. The appearance is novel and beautiful, which can be coordinated with the surrounding environment of the substation. The urban power supply department requires high-voltage measurement for self-maintenance box substations (250kVA or above 315kVA). In other cases, the distribution of more circuits includes the provision of backup circuits. Under these circumstances, the designer will optimize the design by referring to the samples selected by the manufacturer based on the actual electricity usage.
