SF6 gas insulated primary switchgear is a common medium voltage switchgear. It is characterized by a tank filled with SF6 gas, as an insulating and arc extinguishing medium, providing excellent short-circuit breaking capacity and improving safety. The compact primary switchgear is specially designed for 10kV/6kV power distribution network. Considering flexibility, gas insulated switchgear is a combination of modular units.

SF6 gas insulated primary switchgear is composed of the following four parts:
The entire primary switchgear can be divided into upper and lower units. The upper unit of the cabinet includes the busbar room, load switch, operating mechanism room and low-voltage room, and the lower unit cable room can form a whole cabinet or can be separated. The equipment installed in the upper unit can be overhauled and modified safely and conveniently, and the entire upper unit can be replaced when necessary.
Busbar room
The busbar room is arranged in the upper part of the cabinet. In the busbar room, the main busbars are connected together and run through the entire row of switch cabinets.
Switch room
A sulfur hexafluoride load switch is installed in the switch room. The shell of the load switch is made of epoxy resin and filled with sulfur hexafluoride gas as an insulating medium. SF6 gas density meter or gas density meter with alarm contact can be installed in the switch room according to customer requirements.
Operating mechanism, interlocking mechanism and low-voltage control room
The mechanism with interlock also functions as a control panel.
Cable room
The cable room is mainly used for cable connection. Single-core or three-core cables can be connected with the simplest unshielded cable head. At the same time, the sufficient space can also accommodate lightning arresters, current transformers, lower grounding switches and other components.
