Types of high voltage cabinets

Mar 09, 2021

High-voltage cabinets refer to electrical products with voltage levels between 3.6 kV and 550 kV, which are used for power generation, transmission, distribution, energy conversion and consumption of the power system. Mainly include high-voltage circuit breakers, high-voltage isolation switches and grounding switches, high-voltage load switches, high-voltage automatic reclosing and sectioning devices, high-voltage operating mechanisms, high-voltage explosion-proof power distribution devices and high-voltage switch cabinets. The high-voltage switch manufacturing industry is an important part of the power transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing industry and occupies a very important position in the entire power industry.

Types of high-voltage cabinets:

According to the installation method of the circuit breaker, it can be divided into detachable type (handcart type) and fixed type.

(1) Detachable or handcart type (indicated by Y): refers to the main electrical components in the cabinet (such as circuit breakers) installed on the withdrawable handcart. Due to the good interchangeability of the handcart cabinet, the reliability of power supply can be greatly improved. The commonly used types of handcarts are: isolated handcarts, metering handcarts, circuit breaker handcarts, PT handcarts, capacitor handcarts, second-hand handcarts, etc.

(2) Fixed (indicated by G): Refers to all electrical components in the cabinet (such as circuit breakers or load switches, etc.). )Fixed installation, fixed switchgear is relatively simple and economical.

According to the installation location, it is divided into indoor and outdoor.

(1) Indoor use (indicated by n); it means that it can only be installed and used indoors;

(2) Outdoor use (indicated by W); means that it can be installed and used outdoors.

According to the cabinet structure, it can be divided into four categories: metal-enclosed armored switchgear, metal-enclosed bay switchgear, metal-enclosed box-type switchgear and open switchgear.

(1) Metal-enclosed armored switchgear (indicated by the letter K). The main components (such as circuit breakers, transformers, bus bars, etc.) are installed in grounded metal enclosed switchgear separated by metal partitions.

(2) Metal-enclosed switchgear (indicated by the letter J) is similar to armored metal-enclosed switchgear. Its main electrical components are also installed in separate compartments, but with one or more non-metallic compartments that meet a certain protection level. board.

(3) Metal-enclosed box-type switchgear (indicated by the letter X). The switchgear enclosure is a metal enclosed switchgear.

(4) Open the switch cabinet, there is no protection level requirement, and the shell is a partially opened switchgear.
